About This Couse:

The “Mental Health Support in the Workplace & Community” course is designed to equip participants with essential skills and knowledge to effectively support individuals experiencing mental health challenges.

This course is particularly valuable for professionals in various sectors, including healthcare, education, and community services, as well as individuals seeking to foster a supportive environment in their workplaces or communities. This course will address psychosocial hazards, factors in the workplace or community that can affect mental health, such as stress, bullying, and workload pressures. Participants will learn to identify these hazards and understand their impact on individuals and teams.

Strategies for mitigating psychosocial risks will be incorporated, empowering attendees to create healthier environments that promote mental well-being and resilience. Workplace Requirements

Did you know that 1 in 5 Australian adults experience a mental illness in any given year; and 50% of all adult Australians experience mental illness in their lifetime – in the workplace this could be your team, clients, or contractors.   
 
An employer must comply with their duty of care obligation under the WHS Act 2011 – 

WHS Act 2011 section 19; WHS regulation Part 3.1 and Part 3.2, Division 11 – Primary duty of care, managing risk to health and safety which includes psychosocial risks.  A PCBU must ensure, so far as is reasonable practicable, the health and safety (including psychological health) of workers.
